VIOLENCE CASES
Encompassing anything from minor assault to murder, violence cases are one of our areas of expertise. As experienced Auckland lawyers, we have seen and handled cases at all levels of violent offending, and can offer sound advice and a methodical, measured approach for a robust defence. Whether it’s lack of prosecution evidence, self-defence, defence of another, or necessity, there are possibilities when it comes to putting forth a case.
One of the keys to a successful defence is to receive expert counsel early in the process. Having good advice from a lawyer experienced in violence cases right from the beginning is invaluable—even if you intend to plead guilty. In fact, it’s particularly important to consult a criminal lawyer early if you intend to plead guilty. There are discounts available at sentencing for early guilty pleas. Also, if we become involved in the initial stages we can engage in charge discussions with a view to reducing your original charge.
